Ernest G. Jones

Ernest “Ernie” G. Jones, 73, of Anderson, passed away December 2, 2014 at Manor Care after an extended illness.

He was born August 22, 1941, in Stone County, Arkansas, the son of the late William E. and Wahnita (Hile) Jones.

Ernest lived most of his life in Anderson, where he worked as a janitor and spray painter for Gentry Cabinets, Blue Heron, Kmart and McDonalds. He attended Bethany Baptist Church and was a former member of the Musician’s Union.

He is survived by his siblings, Charles “Chuck” (Judy) Jones of Apopka, FL, Raymond (Barbara) Jones of Anderson, Ronnie L. (Peggy) Jones of Winter Haven, FL, Tom D. (Kathy) Jones of Marion, NC and Rozetta (Jerry) Phsoc of Lakeland, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his sisters, Dora and Marlene and his brothers, Carl and James.

As per his wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
