Emmett Whitmore, Jr.

Emmett Whitmore, Jr., 83, Anderson, passed away Monday, November 10, 2008, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following a brief illness.
He was born on December 31, 1924, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Emmet and Dorothy (Davis) Whitmore, Sr.
Emmett retired in 1980 from owning and operating Hoosier Mill and Maintanence.
He is survived by one daughter, Judy (husband, Mike) Brown of Ocala, FL; two granddaughters, Jamie Smay of Anderson, and Kelly Lane (husband, Toby Fincher) of Lapel; his son-in-law, Tom Smay of Anderson; a half brother, Dave (wife, Eula) Crosley of Lapel; and a special niece, Connie Dickson of Huntington..
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola (Castor) Whitmore; a daughter Linda K. Smay; a half brother, Don Swinford; and a half sister, Sandra Crosley .
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 14, 2008, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, in rural Noblesville.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
