Emma Jean (Moore) Graves, 89, daughter of Mary Walden and Carson Moore, died peacefully on July 12, 2020 at Anderson Community Hospital. Jean was born September 16, 1930 in Harlan County, Kentucky and that is where she married the love of her life, Robert Pearl Graves, Jr., on December 23, 1947. She retired from General Motors Guide Lamp Division in 1983. She and her husband were long time members of Anderson First Church of the Nazarene. Jean is survived by her son, Robert Carson Graves (wife, Diana); grandson, Joseph Robert Graves (wife Kristi); great-grandchildren Josie Elaine and Lucas Robert Graves, all of Anderson. She is also survived by her brother, Dalton Moore (wife Shirley) of Arkansas. Also surviving are brother in-law and sister in-law Dale and Mary Lou Graves of North Carolina; sisters in-law, Pauline Meeks of Florida, Elizabeth Crawford of Kentucky, Ellen Graves of Virginia, and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death in 2019, by her husband of 71 years, Robert, her father and mother; brother, Bill Moore and a sister, Edith Peace. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staffs at Sugar Fork Crossing, Chesterfield Miller’s Merry Manor, and the nurses and doctors at Anderson Community Hospital for the loving care they gave Jean.
