Emily Elizabeth Nikirk, 33, of Chesterfield was called home on January 1, 2017 after a five year battle with cancer. Emily was able to donate her eyes as an organ donor. Emily worked at the Hillcroft Center in Muncie and was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church and church choir. She was also active in Special Olympics and enjoyed bowling, softball and track and field. Emily is survived by her parents, Phil and Marcia Nikirk of Anderson; her brothers, Michael Nikirk of Collingdale, PA; and Matt Nikirk and special niece, Lucy Nikirk of Fishers; her step sister, Megan (McCain) White and husband, Mike of Anderson. Also surviving are her grandmothers, aunts, uncle and cousins as well as, a special group of roommates and friends at the Group Home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann (Henry) Champ and grandfathers, Robert Nikirk and Gerald Henry. An open visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Chesterfield Christian Church, followed by a family only Memorial Service with Pastor Ned Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
