Eloise T. Toombs, 91, Anderson, went to her heavenly home on November 14, 2014. She was born on January 27, 1923, in Anderson, the daughter of the late Clyde and Vivian (Flick) Randall. She was a 1941 graduate of Anderson High School and was married on February 2, 1942 to Rex Toombs. Eloise was a homemaker and a member of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She made beautiful afghans and “grandma quilts” that all of her grandchildren loved to receive.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Nick (Judy) Toombs, Randy Toombs and Patti (Rinde) O’Brien; four grandchildren, Terry (Kim) Toombs, Erik (Andrea Rule) Toombs, Tiana (Dustin) Girt and Nicholas (Gina Powell) O’Brien; 14 great grandchildren, Dirk, Austin, Ethan, Aaron, Tyler, Greg and Bo Toombs, Ashley (Shane) McGuire, Keegan and Kyran Planalp, Temple and Sailor O’Brien, Tessa Ruch and Cheyenne Girt; 2 great great grandchildren, Xander and Pierce Toombs; one brother and one sister, Bob Randall and Karen (Rick) Skaggs and several nieces and nephews.
Welcoming her home is her husband, Rex Toombs; parents, Clyde Randall and Vivian Randall Grant; a grandson, Greg Toombs and a sister, Norma Minter.
Service will be at 1:00 P.M Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Dennis Zirkle officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
