Ellen R. Hampton

Ellen R. Hampton, 94, Pendleton, passed peacefully, July 24, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on January 21, 1929, to Clarence and Augusta (Miller) Amick in Green Township, Indiana. Ellen was a 1947 graduate of Lapel High School. She then met and married Charles J. Hampton in Pendleton, they then had one son, Michael Hampton.

She worked shortly for Firestone and the Hardy Company doing secretarial work but she enjoyed making a house a home and spoiling her dogs. Ellen lovingly crocheted gifts for her loved ones.

Ellen is survived by her son, Michael Hampton; grandson, Mark (Shyanne) Hampton; two great-grandsons, Zachary and Logan Hampton; 2-great-great-grandchildren, Colton and Gracie Hampton. Four nieces, Jane Billheimer, Barbara (Tom) Tescher, Melinda Lathan, Alisa (Douglas) Clough; 2 nephews, Larry Amick and William Amick. One cousin, Ida M. (Mark) Barcus.

She was preceded in death by, daughter-in-law, Sheila Hampton; sister, Alma M Amick Beaver; four brothers, Claude Byron Amick, Gerald E. Amick, Dale W. Amick, Kenneth W. Amick. Sisters-in-law, Maye, Vera, Ann Amick; Brother-in-law, Donald C. Beaver.

Graveside services will be held at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, 9088 W. 1025 S. Fortville, Indiana 46040 at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27^th, 2023.
