Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Myer, 92, of Anderson passed away on November 12, 2023. She was first born as a child of God’s many children. She was the 11th born of 12 children, on November 22, 1930 in Anderson to the late wonderful parents Elmer and Josephine (Licher) Smith. Betty Ann married the love of her life, a great guy, Dennis “Denny” Myer, on October 7, 1950. The two were married for 37 years and were blessed with 3 loving sons, before his passing in 1988. She graduated from high school and then went on to attend Ball State University for a year. She was a homemaker for a number of years before she began working with her husband, Denny, and son, John, at Dennis & John Myer Insurance. Betty Ann found her spiritual home at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a devote member for many years. She was a very active member of the Victoria Guild and the Anderson and Edgewood Country Club. Betty Ann was an avid golf and tennis player and she enjoyed traveling all over the world. Most importantly, she loved her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother to them. “Wow! What a life! I was certainly blessed.”
Betty Ann will be dearly missed by her sons, Joe (Gay Ann) Myer and John (fiancée, Karen Givan) Myer; grandchildren, Charlie Myer and Chris (Shirley) Myer; great-grandchildren, Benjamin (Kyndra) Myer, Darren Myer, and Dean Myer; the most beautiful great-great-granddaughter, Bexleigh Myer; sister, Jeannine Kempher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denny; son, Jeffrey “Chip” Myer; grandson, Travis Jeffrey Myer; and siblings, Roberta Hencks, Kathleen “Mickey” (Robert) McCrystal, Harold Smith, Agnes (Robert) Swank, Mary Ellen (Lewie) Hickner, Rita Elaine (Raymond) Chezem, Bernard Smith, Albert A. (Dody) Smith, John Francis Smith, and Joann “Patty” (Thomas) Sharp; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Kempher.

The visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl St., Anderson, IN 46016. The funeral mass will begin at 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Betty Ann’s name may be gifted to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
