Elizabeth A. “Peg” Carey, 86, of Pendleton, Indiana passed away January 21, 2020 at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.She was born December 30, 1933 in Clarksville, Indiana to the late Cloyd and Edith (Salsbury) Grimes.Peg was a homemaker. She attended North Christian Church in Markleville and formerly attended Noblesville Church of God. Peg was a member of the Red Hat Society in Florida.Survivors include her children, Robert (Leettia) Carey of Pendleton, Cathy (Richard) Rogers of Largo, Florida, Jean (Mike) Sloan of Mansfield, Ohio and John (Cathy) Carey of Pendleton; daughter-in-law, Jan (Dave) Butler of Pendleton; sister, Lulabelle (Larry) Kincade of Cicero; sisters-in-law, Helen Grimes of Athens, Greece and Barbara Davis of Riverwood; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews and her faithful and loyal Yorkshire, Coco.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack L. Carey; son, Kevin Carey; granddaughter, Kymberli Carey; brother, Melvin Grimes; sister and brother-in-law, Pat (Forrest) Collums; companion, Jim Shively; and the love of her life, Yorkshire Benji.Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.Visitation from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Coach Carey Foundation.
