Elease P. Smith, 87, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, in Pendleton. She had been a resident of Anderson. She was born March 6, 1934, in Livingston, TN to the late Waldon & Mildred (Mullins) Paul. Elease was a member of Anderson Church of Christ. She was an avid bowler, playing every chance she got. Elease also loved sewing and sewed everything wedding dresses, clothing, to quilts. Her skills were so well known that her husband Bill, would bring home clothes that needed alterations, every day from his co-workers at Delco-Remy. When not bowling or sewing you could find her in the garden tending her beloved flowers and vegetables. Elease is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith; niece, Laurel (husband, Lance) Martin; and faithful four-legged companion, Baby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William “Bill” Smith; brother, Clyde Paul; and four-legged companions, Spud & Mollie. Services will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Elders Vernon White & Dennis Faivor, officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
