Elaine Ann Wilbur

Elaine A. Wilbur, 81, of Anderson, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August, 15, 2018. Elaine was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and took her last breath at Indiana University Hospital where she was surrounded by family and friends. Born on May 18th, 1937, Elaine’s late parents, Lena and Carl Cummins, raised their only child in Indiana, where in 1956 Elaine graduated from Anderson High School. Elaine was the widow of Ronald E. Wilbur, whom she married on February 21st 1970. Together they had two children, Leah Wilbur (Barry Wallace) and Ronald Steven Wilbur. She absolutely cherished her family, which also included her three children with first husband, David Brinker: Carl Brinker, the late Matthew Brinker and Christopher Brinker (Paula) as well as her four stepchildren: Ronald Derek Wilbur (Kathie), Randal David Wilbur (Debbie), Diane Philpott, and Daniel Eugene Wilbur. Many adored grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive Elaine. During her time in Colorado from 1992-1998 and 2003-2006, she lovingly embraced the opportunity to help raise four of her grandchildren. Elaine truly had a heart of gold. A nurturing mother, she truly enjoyed life as a homemaker. She loved her coffee and had a serious passion for shopping on QVC. Most recently, Elaine had a lovely time celebrating the wedding of her granddaughter in June of 2017, and in June of 2016, Elaine spent time at a family lake house in South Dakota, boating and basking in the sunshine with her loved ones. Friends and family would say that Elaine was selfless, sweet as pie and simply a kind-hearted soul. She was known to be helpful in her community, driving friends and neighbors to appointments, and helping others whenever she saw the need or opportunity. Now free from her pain, Elaine will be dearly missed by many, and will forever rest in peace. Services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013 with burial at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
