Edwin Ray "Eddie" Bauer, 81, Anderson, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011, at Community Hospital of Anderson following an extended illness. He was born on April 1, 1930, in Jasper to Raymond and Verda (Taylor) Bauer. Eddie retired in 1992 as a sheet metal worker and had been employed at one time by the former Lapel Sheet Metal and Bright Sheet Metal. He attended Central Wesleyan Church in Anderson and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 20. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jolene (Zent) Bauer; six children; James (wife, Mia) Bauer of Lapel, Mike (wife, Carol) Bauer of Ontario, Can., Dan (wife, Michelle) Bauer of Pendleton, Pam (husband, Kenny) Reddick of Anderson, Chris Bauer of Lapel, and Richard (wife, Carrie) Bauer of Anderson; fourteen grandchildren, Adrian (wife, Lori) Bauer of Pendleton, Nicole (husband, Wayne) Pinkerton of Noblesville, Jesse (wife, Ashli) Armstrong of Pendleton, Jayma (husband, Hank) Meyers of Pendleton, Cammeron (wife, Rachel) Bauer of Lapel, David Reddick of Anderson, Jana Bennett of Pendleton, Brandon (wife, Kristin) Reddick of Rockford, MI, Kelly (husband, Ryan) VanMatre of Piqua, OH, Carly Reddick of Anderson, Alan Bauer of Lapel, Stacy Bauer of Lapel, Madison Bauer of Anderson, and Makenna Bauer of Anderson; eighteen great-grandchildren; three step-children, Gary (wife, Karla) Mills of Anderson, Mark Mills of Alexandria, and Teresa (husband, Kevin) House of Anderson; five step-grandchildren, Kyle (wife, Rachel) Mills of Anderson, Mandy (husband, Brian) Fuller of Lapel, Brittnee and Ashlee House of Anderson, and Jack (wife, Melissa) House of Anderson; two brothers, Gene Bauer of Florida, and Ivan (wife, Sharon) Bauer of Loogootee; one sister, Joan Fennell of Anderson; and three sisters-in-law, Arlene Zent of Anderson, Betty Ann Meringer, and Rose Dick of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores (Dick) Bauer; a sister, Naomi Eggman; eight brothers-in-law, Larry Fennell, Jimmy and Max Zent, Freddie, Rufus, Jerome, and Billy Dick, Wilfred Gehlhausen; and two sisters-in-law, Jessie Bauer, Mary Ann Gehlhausen. Services will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev.s Ken Sandefur and Ryan VanMatre officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Wesleyan Church, 2406 Delaware St, Anderson, IN 46016.
