Edwin E. Moreillon

October 30, 1924 — November 1, 2014

Edwin E. Moreillon, 90, Markleville, passed away November 1, 2014 at his residence after several month illness.

He was born October 30, 1924, in Switzerland County, IN, the son of the late Aaron Alfred and Catherine Beatrice (Kettenbrink) Moreillon. He was educated in a one room school house (Picketts Corner) and graduated from Vevay High School excelling in sports being awarded Best All Round Athlete. After graduation he moved to Anderson for work. He served his country in the US Marine Corp during WWII. His duty took him to the South Pacific Campaign. On his return to the states he returned to his job at Guide Lamp where worked 37 years before retiring in 1979. Edwin loved fishing with boyhood friend, Bob Amick, hunting turkey and deer with son and son-in-law, and roaming the woods of his boyhood in the southern Indiana hills.

He is survived by his two children, Ted Moreillon of Middletown and Connie (Joe) Buck of Markleville; four grandchildren, Blu (Carrie) Moreillon, Keri Ann (Craig) Brunnemer, Zak Moreillon and Megan (Mike) Bouvat; great grandchildren, Forrest Ockerman, Coy Blu Moreillon, Colin Ray Moreillon, Cailee Moreillon, Madison Brunnemer, Payton Brunnemer and Hailee Brunnemer; two brothers, Archie (Joyce) Moreillon, Wilbur Moreillon; a sister-in-law, Vida L. Shreves; special friend, Lucille Amick and several nieces and nephews.

Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian May Moreillon.

Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Chaplin Rob Mifflin officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the VFW Post #266.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Center or American Cancer Society.
