Edward Lee Quallo, Sr., 76, Lapel, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Manor Care in Anderson. He was born on May 25, 1937, in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada to John and G. Ruth (Mason) Quallo. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1956 and listed in the U. S. Marine Corps following graduation. He was honorably discharged from the Marines in 1961. Ed retired from the Indiana Department of Corrections at the Pendleton Reformatory and had been employed by the former Emge Meat Plant in Anderson before that. He is survived by a son, Lee (wife, Cindy) Quallo, a step-daughter, Rachel (husband, Shane) Huber of Lapel; two grandchildren, Kevin Ray and Kailey Reanne Moreland; a step-daughter from a previous marriage, Emma Leach and her children and grandson; two nieces, Lisa (husband, Mark) Ober and Melissa (husband, Wes) Griffin and their children; a nephew, Adam Maze; and many many friends including Don and Cindy Holiday and Larry Parks. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 30 years, Candice (Henderson) Quallo; two sisters, Marie and Denise; and a brother-in-law, Larry Milam. There will be a military graveside service at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 25, 2013, in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel conducted by the Lapel American Legion Post 212.
