Edward E. "Jack" Jones, 84, Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Riverview Hospital Noblesville following a sudden illness.
He was born on May 4, 1921, in Washington Courthouse, Ohio the son of Thomas and Nora (Bennett) Jones. He retired in 1975 from Delco Remy and had then worked for ten years at the Noblesville Wal-mart. He had pastored for over 50 years and was an evangelist for more than half that time. He also farmed for many years. He was a member of the Central Community Chapel in Anderson where he was once the pastor. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jones; four children, Edward (wife, Glenda) Jones, Jr. of Mayfield, KY, Patsy (husband, Bill) Peterson of Columbus, OH, Norma Saathoff of Anderson, and Christopher Jones of Noblesville; a half-brother, Roger Jones of Ohio; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Maxine Sallee Jones in 2003. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard "Dick" Gregg officiating. Military graveside rites and burial will be at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Fishers. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
