Edna M. Brown, 81, Lapel, passed away Monday June 9, 2003, at Community Hospital of Anderson after a sudden illness. She was born on November 12, 1921, in Lapel, Indiana to Roy and Mabel (Smith) Fry. She was a member of the former Lapel Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She loved to crochet and made many different things for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Ivan Brown whom she married April 9, 1942 in Anniston, Ala.; one daughter, Debbie (husband, Doug) Milliner of Lapel; a son-in-law, Si DeVaney of Westfield; two grandchildren, Cindy (husband, Jon) Robison of Cicero, and Si (wife, Kim) DeVaney of Sheridan; two great-grandchildren, Faith DeVaney and Josie DeVaney; two step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her granddog, Sunny. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sarah DeVaney in 2002; and a brother, Ralph Fry in 1998. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
