Edith P. Shetterly

Edith P. Shetterly, 76, Elwood, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012, at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following an extended illness. She was born on October 13, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio to William and Bessie (Propes) Smith. She was a member of the Perkinsville Community Church where she served as home missions coordinator for many years; she also served on the Perkinsville Park Festival Committee in the 1980's and 1990's. She is survived by three children, Debra (husband, Dennis) Muse of Perkinsville, Michael (wife, Brenda) Cogill of Elwood, and Frank (wife, Janet) Shetterly of Perkinsville; four grandchildren, Danny Muse, Stacy (husband, Jerry) Barnes, Michael (wife, Wing) Cogill, Jr., and Bradley Cogill; six great-grandchildren, Christopher and Danielle Muse, Phillip Likens, Joshua and Kimberly Barnes, and Michaela Cogill; and one great-great-grandson, Tucker Likens. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 48 years, Joe Shetterly. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Perkinsville Community Church in Perkinsville with Pastor Jeff Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Neese Cemetery, Frankton. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perkinsville Park Fund, c/o the Perkinsville Community Church, 2783 North Washington Street, Anderson, Indiana 46011.
