Earl Smith, Jr.

Earl Smith, Jr., 82, Pendleton, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness.
He was born on December 8, 1927, in Kona, Kentucky to Earl and Orpha (Mullins) Smith, Sr.
Earl retired from Continental Baking Company in Indianapolis after over 30 years of employment.
He was a member of the Prairie Baptist Church in rural Noblesville
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Jo (Shaffer) Smith; one daughter, Cathy (husband, Eli) Garza of Pendleton; two grandsons, Matthew (wife, Rachel) Smith of Spokane, Wash., and Joshua Wall of Greenwood; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Kirstin, Ashleigh, Erin, and Josie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 15, 2010, at Prairie Baptist Church in Noblesville with Pastor Marlin Savidge officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, Noblesville.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
