Earl R. Perkins

March 1, 1932 — September 22, 2016

Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31 Today Earl found renewed strength and entered into his eternal home. Born March 1, 1932 to Earl S. and Nellie M. (Brown) Perkins in Anderson, he would start his journey which would afford many memorable moments. After graduating from Anderson High School in 1950, he married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Boyer in March of 1951. That union would produce three children, Jennifer, Jeff and Julie; also being blessed with Sandy, their “adopted” daughter. Earl worked for Top Value for several years followed by service in the auto industry. His greatest delight was his love of family. He had three grandchildren, Joe Key and wife Jess (Sanderfur), Jennie (Robinson) Bowen and husband Jeremy and Janelle Robinson and soon to be husband Dyl Cape. May of 2016 would bring his first great-grandson, Jagger Bowen. He and Virginia celebrated sixty-five years of marriage, and we are sure he is already anxiously awaiting the day he and “Ginny” will be together again. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Nellie Perkins; in-laws, Roscoe and Pauline Boyer; brothers-in-law, Max Boyer and Rev. Terry Bailey; son, Jeffrey Perkins; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Virgina; beloved dog, Tinkerbell; daughters, Jennifer, Julie and Sandy; grandchildren, Joe and Jess, Jeremy, Jen, Jovi & Jagger, and Jan and Dyl; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Barbara Hutton; sisters-in-law, Carolyn “Susie” Bailey and Frances “Tiny” Boyer; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, at Brown-Butz- Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Timothy Bailey and Jennifer Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Connection Pointe Church.
