Dwight Wayne Anderson

Dwight Wayne Anderson, 88, Noblesville, passed away peacefully with family at his side Thursday, October 5, 2017, in the home he was born in following a brief illness.He was born on September 26, 1929, in Hamilton County to Leon and Hilda Marie (Moore) Anderson.Dwight was graduated from Lapel High School.He retired in 2016 from farming his farm at the age of 87.Dwight was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Noblesville Masonic Lodge, and had served on the Hamilton Southeastern School board for 12 years. He was also a member of several agricultural organizations. Dwight loved meeting with Euchre Club to play cards twice a week where he made many new friends. Dwight was known for his teasing comments and he teasingly offered Euchre Seminars to many of his friends..He is survived by two daughters, Gail (husband, James) Kurtz of Kalamazoo, MI and Nancy Anderson of Carmel; his companion of four years, Karen Cookman of Anderson; five grandchildren, Amanda Kurtz (husband, Daniel VanderHorst), Christopher (wife, Andrea) Kurtz, Elizabeth "Elie"(husband, Justin) Mason, Clayton Anderson, and Allison (husband, Sebastian) Clemens; one great-granddaughter, Mia Marie Kurtz; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Anderson, Marilyn Masters, and Linda Parisi; several nieces and nephews; his dog, Robert; and his cat, Mouser "Shellie".Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Wanda (Nicholson); one brother, Robert; and a sister, Frances Burke.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel with Dewey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, October 9, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, Lapel.Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
