Douglas F. Robinson

November 2, 1942 — August 26, 2018

Douglas F. Robinson, of Indianapolis, passed away, August 26th, after a lengthy illness surrounded by all of his loved ones at his side. He was born November 2, 1942 in Anderson to Nelson and Mabel (Armstrong) Robinson. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1961. He married the love of his life, Sharon Jarvis, in 1967 and they shared 51 ½ years together. He retired from GM and Mangnequench International in 2002 after 39 years of service. Doug was an avid sports fan, having coached Little League and Babe Ruth League teams from 1978 through 1985. He was also a devoted fan of Anderson Indians basketball. He loved spending time relaxing at the family lake house in northern Indiana. Doug was a dedicated active member of UAW Local 662, having served as committeeman and alternate committeeman at various times throughout his tenure. He also was a youth basketball camp director for the Local 662 every summer throughout the 1990s. He is survived by his wife Sharon Robinson; daughter Lori (Rob) Wheeler; son Derrick (Cary) Robinson; granddaughter Ireland Raquel Robinson; brother, David (Debbie) Robinson; and cousin Paul Armstrong. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Mike Weber officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitaiton will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.brownbutzdiedring.com.
