Dortha H. Baker

Dorotha H. Baker, 84, Elwood, passed away Saturday September 21, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following an extended illness. She was born on March 28, 1918, in Noblesville to Otto and Minnie (Carroll) McCarty. Mrs. Baker was a 1937 Walnut Grove High School graduate and she and her husband ran a TV repair shop in Elwood. She is survived by a daughter, Kay (husband, Larry) Stiles of Noblesville; five grandchildren, Mark Bryan, Lynnette Bryan, Kevin Stiles, Christine Stiles-Dunlap, and Jim Stiles; ten great grandchildren, Adam Bryan, Aaron Bryan, Rae-Ann Bryan, David Stiles, Chad Neff, Jordan Stevens, Ethan Dunlap, Carrie Stiles, Brian Oker, and Allie Oker; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Baker in 1986; her daughter Marcella McCune in 1998; and two sisters, Opal McCarty and Thelma Hawkins. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Bishop Byron Bullough officiating. Burial will be at the Carey Cemetery, Noblesville. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation
