Dorothy M. Maggart, of Anderson, passed away November 12, 2014 at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born to Mike and Beatrice Stenski in Norton, Virginia and has lived in Anderson since 1946 and was a homemaker.
Dorothy was a former member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Polish National Alliance Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Charles (wife, Paula) Dixon of Alexandria; her daughter, Elizabeth Dixon of Anderson; three grandchildren, Sean (wife, Andrea) Dixon of Anderson, Cody (wife, Kayla) Dixon of Alexandria and Wade (wife, Shawn) Whitehead of Anderson; two great grandchildren, Ethan Whitehead and Olivia Whitehead; two brothers, Cecil (wife, Nancy) Stenski of Ovid, Steve (wife, Vickie) Stenski of Chesterfield; two sisters, Delores Gammon of Anderson and Donna (husband, Jimmy) Farley of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 45 years, George C. Dixon and her second husband, John Maggart whom she had for 5 short years; three brothers, Jim Stenski, Kenny “Bud” Stenski and Pat Stenski; one sister, Dina Marcuz.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Mike Weber officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
