Dorothy M. Moore, 78, Lapel, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Transitional Care Unit of Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness.
She was born on February 2, 1930, in Noblesville, Indiana to Earl and Mary (Winkle) Purkey.
Dorothy had been employed at the former Brookside Corp. in McCordsville.
She was a member of the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church
She is survived by two children, Walter (wife, Susie) Moore of Pendleton and Eddie (wife, Pam) Moore of Frankton; six grandchildren, Brian (wife, Amy) Carey of Alexandria, Chip (wife, Shelly) Moore of Elwood, Danny Moore (companion, Rhonda Voelkel) of Pendleton, Jason Moore (companion, Barb Hanna) of Celestine, Renee (husband, Bill) Barton of Frankton, and Chuck Moore (companion, Jesse Benefield) of Frankton; her son-in-law, Richard (wife, June) Carey of Alexandria; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary McDole of Noblesville, and Betty Camp of Noblesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Louie Moore; her daughter, Deborah Carey; one grandson, Jackie Carey; three brothers, Bill Purkey, Johnny Purkey, and Claude Purkey; and one sister, Minnie Zook.
Funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
