Dorothy "Dolly" Anderson, 88, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on June 2, 1927, in Brockway, Pennsylvania to Theodore and Louise (Fleming) Bruno.
She graduated from Brockway High School in 1945.
Dolly had worked for many years at Brockway Glass in Lapel and had owned and operated the J & D Restaurant in Lapel with her husband from 1964 to 1979. She began working in 1972 at the former Guide Lamp division of General Motors in Anderson and retired in 1993.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church; the Lapel American Legion Post 212 Auxiliary; and the Anderson Moose.
She is survived by one son, James O. Anderson, Jr. of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, James Michael Anderson of Indianapolis and Angela Marie (wife, Christi) Anderson of Plainfield; four great-grandchildren, Sophie, Jacob, Myiah, and Owen Anderson; one sister, Rita (husband, Norm) Brown of Brockway, PA; a brother, Joseph (wife, Helen) Bruno of Brockway, PA; a brother-in-law, Frank Jr. (wife, Leona) Anderson of Pendleton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James O. Anderson, Sr.; and a brother, Harry Bruno.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date and burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
