Doris A. Bechert

Doris A. Bechert, 88, of Lapel, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.

She was born on August 30, 1935, in Van Wert, Ohio to Harold and Edna Leona (Merkle) Miller.

She was a graduate of Van Wert High School. She was a retired secretary. She enjoyed crafting, fishing and attending flea markets.

Doris is survived by three daughters, Tami Knauer of Lapel, Deniece (husband, Miles) Witt of Westfield and Joice (husband, Jeff) Aurednik of Pennsylvania; one brother, Rex (wife, Sue) Miller of California; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bechert Jr.; her parents; and a brother, Dean (wife, Patty) Miller.

There will be no services. Cremation will take place.
