Dora P. Utley

Dora P. Utley, 92, Anderson, passed away June 30, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield.

She was born April 8, 1922 in Hines, MN and at the age of 19, became a lifetime resident of Anderson. Dora retired from Delco Remy in 1981 after 33 years.

Dora was a member of East Side Church of God for 63 years. She was an avid quilter, belonging to Muncie Quilt Guild and Anderson Redbud Quilt Guild.

Survivors include her children, Sylvia (Ronnie) Reed of Anderson, Steve (Lee Ann) Utley of Atlanta, GA, Vicky (Brian) Hildebrand of Yorktown and Richard (Cindy) Utley of Carmel; nine grandchildren, Bryan Reed, Brent Reed, Barbara Reed, Jordan Utley, Lydia Utley, Vanessa Utley, Samuel Utley, Jenna Schmith and Brian Schmith; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Utley in 2001.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Harter House and Miller’s Merry Manor for all their care of Dora.

Services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Thursday at East Side Church of God with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Viewpoint Radio Ministry and Children of Promise, both through East Side Church of God.
