Donald Roy Byram, 93, passed away on October 19, 2018 in Anderson, IN where he resided with his daughter. Don was born in Danville, IL on August 30, 1925, the son of William Henry and Lola Elizabeth (Harper) Byram. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He married the love of his life, Jean Lorraine Frobose, on June 23, 1945, in Amarillo, TX.
Don did various kinds of work until graduating from the University of Illinois and becoming a teacher. He loved building and continued with this passion after his retirement. In his lifetime he built four houses, including Timberhill in the Great Smoky Mountains. Don and Jean loved this home and shared its beauty with many friends and family over the years.
Don loved God and his family. He was a quiet man of integrity who enjoyed nature and being in the woods.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, his brothers Howard and Gordon, and his sister Betty. He is survived by his four children, Greg (Nora) Byram of Danville, Kath (Alan) Williams of Anderson, IN, Bill (Andrea) Byram of Danville, and Gail Becker of DeKalb, IL; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
