Donald R. Conover, 84, passed away November 21, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born January 10, 1931, in Anderson, the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Shell) Conover.
Donald served in Korea in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and retired as a tool maker from Delco-Remy. He was the founder of the Delco-Remy Family Campers and was a member of Masonic Lodge #271 in Middletown and V.F.W. Post #266 in Anderson.
He is survived by his three children, Douglas (Cindy Smith) Conover of Chicago, IL, Andy (Emily) Conover of Anderson and Amy (Steve) White of New Castle; grandchildren, Jacob (Ashley) White, Marci (Brandon) Welti, Lindi Conover, Jon Oliver Conover, Mike (Cortney) Hofer and Zak, Zoe and Zane Smith; great-grandchildren, Kinley and Caliana White, Calvin Welti and Dylan and Lennon Hofer; and sister, Jan (Loren) Schmidt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Conover; brother, William Conover; and first wife, Suzette Conover.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel at Camp Chesterfield with Wahna Irvine officiating. Cremation will take place and inurnment will be at the memorial gardens at Camp Chesterfield at a later date.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Main Stage Theatre Company, Anderson.
