Donald (Don) G. Alumbaugh, 83, of Anderson, passed away on June 10th following a brief illness.
Don was born on May 18, 1940, in Elwood, Indiana, to Fred and Beulah Alumbaugh. He had nine siblings, two of which are still living – Judy Higgins of Anderson and Susan Callicoat of Lutz, Florida.
Don worked very hard all his life as a sheet metal worker. He owned and operated Alumbaugh Sheet Metal for 31 years and after retiring and renaming the company Alumbaugh & Son Sheet Metal, his son Jason took over the family business which still thrives today. In his spare time, Don loved hunting and fishing. His place of solace was a wood cabin in southern Indiana that he built with his own two hands. He was super talented in that he could build and fix just about anything.
Don is survived by his three children, Jason (Missy) Alumbaugh, Missy (Monte) Hoover, and Tammy French. He has six grandchildren, Breanne (Gage) Goss, Haley (Sam) Kearney, Wesley (Makindsay) Robinson, Ryan (Lindsey) French, and two great grandchildren Hazel and Finley. Don had special friends of many years, hunting buddies, and was especially close to his grandsons Brady and Kaleb Alumbaugh.
