Donald F. Fred Holt

Donald F. Fred Holt, 96, Elwood, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Saint Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following a brief illness.
He was born on July 24, 1914, in Philadelphia, Indiana to Leroy and Mary (Walsh) Holt.
Fred retired in 1975 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson.
He was a member of the Perkinsville Community Church; he enjoyed fishing and going to his lake home on Dewart Lake. He also enjoyed his grandchildren
Fred is survived by two sons, Steve (wife, Ruthie) Holt of Pendleton and Philip (wife, Brenda) Holt of Noblesville; three grandchildren, Reggie (wife, Jaime) Holt of Fishers, Ryan (wife, Laura) Holt of Westfield, and Hillery Holt of Pendleton; two great-grandchildren, Tyson Holt and Morgan Holt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Vera Mae (Hiday) Holt; and nine brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, December 13, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery, Elwood.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
