ANDERSON- Former Pendleton resident, Donald E. Cook, the eldest son of Clarence and Beulah (Metzger) Cook was born April 18, 1940 near Lima, Ohio. In 1945 his family moved to Pendleton, Indiana. From a young boy he helped his father with farming duties, and subsequently held various positions in the work force throughout his life. He continued in his service to others until his later years.
He was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church on November 23, 1958, and married Mary Long, daughter of Bernice I. and Ruth (Stoner) Long on October 2, 1960. Together they faced the joys and sorrows of life until her passing on June 17, 2015.
He, along with his wife, were called to the deacon’s office on September 27, 1975, in which he labored faithfully until he peacefully passed into eternity on October 15, 2022 at his home in Anderson, Indiana at the age of 82 years.
Survivors include his children and their spouses: Leah and husband Bob Riffey; Lowell; Galen and wife Donna; Emma; and Nathan and wife Emily; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph and Everett and wife Ragena; sister Miriam and husband Steve Aaron; two sisters-in-law, Laura Cook and Martha Meador; an aunt, Mildred Garber; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson, David Earl Cook, three brothers; Stanley, Harry and Harold; one sister Carolyn and husband Ron Sills.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Old German Baptist Brethren Church near Pendleton with the home brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to Compassus Hospice, 3530 W. Fox Ridge Lane, Muncie, IN 47304
