Donald P. Burnett, 86, of Anderson, went to be with his Lord on February 1, 2015.
He was born August 2, 1928 in New Castle, the son of the late George and Lulu (Barkdull) Burnett. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1946 and attended Frankfort Pilgrim College. In 1993, he retired from Delco Remy after 45 years of employment.
Don was a member of Central Wesleyan Church, where he was the church pianist for many years. He also traveled as the pianist with the Strader Trio and then later with George and Ruth McCrory.
Don is survived by his four children, Gary Burnett, Brenda Enlow, Dan (Joyce) Burnett and Bruce Burnett; six grandchildren, Angie (Mike) Russell, Amy (Chad) Purciful, Lori (Justin) Shuck, Derek Enlow, Julianne (Juan) Gonzalez and Jennifer (Christian) Hartman; seven great grandchildren, Taylor Shuck, Cassie Enlow, Connor and Carly Purciful, and Brooklynn, Kayleigh and Addison Shuck; and brother, Jim (Sylvia) Burnett.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruby (Slack) Burnett; and brother, Rev. Gerald Burnett.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Central Wesleyan Church with Revs. Doug Slack and Ken Sandefur officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
