Don Martin Knight

Don Martin Knight, 80, of Anderson, passed away on February 21, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 11, 1940 in Stewart County, Tennessee to the late Carl and Georgia (Wyatt) Knight. Don started at the age of 14 standing on a coke box washing dishes to owning and operating several Captain D’s and Shoney’s restaurants. He was a member of Kingston Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed sports, and he especially had a passion for golf. Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Deanna Faye (Morrison) Knight of Anderson; sons, Donald Troy (Jennifer) Knight of Anderson, Dwight (Jamey) Knight of Anderson, daughter in-law, Cindy Knight Moore; grandchildren, Trey (Portia) Knight, Travis (Katie) Knight, Ashley Knight, Kevin Knight, John Knight; great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Jaylee; brother, Carl Perry Knight of Dover, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Knight; brother Reed Knight; sisters, Helen Purdom, and Margaret Bauer. There will be a Celebration of Life Open House on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. Per COVID guidelines, guests are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. Memorial Contributions may be made to Kingston Avenue Baptist Church, 5403 Kingston Ave, Anderson, IN 46013.
