Don L. Duck Conrad

Don L. Duck Conrad, 72, Anderson, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008, at his residence as a result of a farming accident.
He was born on March 29, 1936, in Anderson, Indiana to Harold and Vern (Stinson) Conrad.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1955.
Don retired in 1997 from Delco Remy after 36 years of employment and he continued to farm the family farm.
He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Don enjoyed several outdoor sporting activities including, golf, snow and water skiing, basketball, and softball. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda (Busby) Conrad; five children, Brenda (husband, Rick) Dawson of Pendleton, Brian (wife, Merrie Jo) Conrad of Anderson, Brent (wife, Catherine) Conrad of LaGrange, GA, Bart (wife, Lisa) Conrad of Anderson, Barry (wife, Rhonda) Conrad of Pittsboro; thirteen grandchildren, Lauren Dawson, Rachel (husband, Cammeron) Bauer, Hilary Conrad, Lia Conrad, Kara Conrad, Jenna Conrad, Kayla Conrad, Matthew Conrad, Daniel Conrad, Joseph Conrad, Sarah Conrad, Lydia Conrad, and Bryce Conrad; five brothers and sisters, Loris Conrad of Sarasota, FL, Charles Conrad of Alexandria, Maryanna Wilson of Pella, IA, Robert Conrad of Anderson, Calvin Conrad of Joplin, MO., and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Louise Hutton, and Montrue Williams; two brothers, George Conrad, and Dr. Bill Conrad; and two grandsons, Barry Conrad, Jr., and Benjamin Conrad.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev.s Jerry Snyder and Neil Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
