Dolly Davis, 91, of Anderson, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at ManorCare Health Services after an extended illness.
She was born in Anderson on March 4, 1924 to the late Cleo and Ruth (Shrout) Davis and has lived in Anderson her entire life.
Dolly retired from the City of Anderson Transportation System where she worked as an auditor. She also did volunteer work for the local Democratic Party during elections.
She is survived by her siblings, Roy Davis, J. Norman (Irene) Davis and Nellie James all of Anderson; sisters-in-law Mabel Davis and Beulah (Ollie) Gilliam; and twenty nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Davis; her son, Jerry Finney; two sisters, Helen Banter and Martha Runyan; and two brothers, Theodore Davis and Ora “Fuzzy” Davis.
Services will be 1pm Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Emory Reece officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11am-1pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
