Dilma M. Harrison, 69, Lapel, passed away Monday, February 5, 2007, at Community Hospital of Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born on March 2, 1937, in Greensburg, Kentucky to Lucian and Alice (Gardner) Simpson.
She graduated from Green County Schools.
Dilma retired in 1994 from a pharmaceutical company in Carmel.
Dilma made a profession of faith in Christ early in life. Over the years she was active in Brownies, Girl Scouts, bowling and expecially very active in her church. The last few years she attended Ford Street United Methodist Church regularly in Lapel.
She is survived by, her husband of 27 years, Edward A. Harrison; one daughter, Gail (husband, Chris) Whicker of Sheridan; two step-daughters, Donna (husband, Jim) Needham of Anderson, and Teresa Hadley of Sheridan; seven grandchildren, Crystal Parks (fiance, Mark Catron), Cody Parks both of Sheridan, Ryan (wife, Jennifer) Needham of Shelbyville, Stephanie Hadley, Stewart Hadley, Cody Walton, and Jordan Leiter all of Sheridan; three great-grandchildren, Wade Catron, Ava Needham, and Cooper Needham; three sisters, Florence Wyatt, Shirley (husband, James) Long both of Indianapolis, Joyce Akin of Greensburg, KY; five brothers, Jim Simpson, Dean (wife, Wilda) Simpson, Bob (wife, June) Simpson, Junior (wife, Lydia) Simpson all of Greensburg, KY, Wayne (wife, Janie) Simpson of Franklin; four nieces, eight nephews, two aunts, one uncle and many cousins. Also surviving are special friends, Nila Bilbrey, Bernie Howell, and Donna Jean Ward all of Lapel.
She was preceded in death by, parents; a sister, Lola Simpson, and many other loved ones.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2007, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating, burial will follow in Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
