Diane R. Greene

Diane R. Greene, 85, of Pendleton, passed away January 6, 2022 peacefully at her home. She was born September 23, 1936 in Anderson, Indiana to the late John and Thora (Jenkins) Hoefner.She married the love of her life the late Robert M. (Bob) Greene on July 11, 1953. They resided in Anderson, Indiana until they built their forever loving home in 1962 located in Pendleton, Indiana. In 2005, Diane retired from Home Improvements by Bob Greene as co-owner which they founded together in 1955.She loved her husband with her whole heart. Her time was spent with family, horses and puppies. Although there were many over the years a few of her special friends: The late Jocko, Chopper, Anique (Apple Annie), Sampson and Delilah, and Sabrina. Roxie was her current extraordinary special friend.Diane was a very talented lady! Among many talents, she was a master at sewing and crocheting and she made some of the most beautiful clothes, blankets and miscellaneous items for herself and family. She loved traveling to many locations by land, sea and air with her husband and family over the years and Diane was always excited for the next big adventure! She also loved all things horses – riding on the farm, going to horse shows and special trips where they took their horses to ride. Diane especially enjoyed the foals that were born on the farm as she referred to up until the end as “the babies”.Survivors include her children, Lisa D. (Tony) Dillon and Robert J. Greene; five grandchildren, Nicole D. (Steve) Carr, Tiffany A. Dillon, Robert J. (Tracy) Greene, Jr., Baylee D. Greene and Lacey N. (Jonathan) Valentine; brother, David Hoefner; and seven great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.A private service will be held at Grove Lawn Cemetery. The family would like to thank Robert Anderson, MD and Staff for their support over the years caring for Diane and Robert.A very special thank you to Diane’s special friend Roxie for sitting by her side and loving her mommy until the very end……
