Diana Desenberg Shively Parks, 84, of Anderson passed away, September 22, 2020. She was born September 11, 1936, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald A. and Jane (Zimmerman) Desenberg and was a 1954 graduate of Elida High School. She went to work in the early 1970’s at the Wallpaper House in Anderson and went on to become the Executive Director of the Madison County March of Dimes. She was instrumental in developing the Walk-a-thons as key fundraisers for the March of Dimes. She later worked for the National Kidney Foundation and became a paralegal after relocating to California in the early 1980’s. She returned to Indiana in the mid 1990’s. Diana is survived by all 7 of her children, Deborah (Johnny) Wilkerson, Christina (Tony) Coppock, Julia (Richard) DePalma, Katherine (Ivan Kevorc) Shively, Cynthia (Donald) Shively-Adkins, Paul Shively and Michael (Angela) Shively; and her children’s father, Thomas P. Shively; 12 grandchildren, Tony (Jennifer) Coppock, Daniel (Courtney) Coppock, Jeff Taylor, Andrea (Jeff) Stewart, Rachel (Benjamin) Taylor, Erica (Aaron) Kirkpatrick, Amy (Chris) Mazur, Jesse Moon, Gabriel (Molly) Shively, Brady (Taylor) Shively, Evan (Madison Barber) Shively, Natalie (Beau) Middleton, and 18 great grandchildren; brothers, William Desenberg, John Desenberg and Joseph Nichols; a sister, Jan Nichols-Berger; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Desenberg. A funeral service will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, a Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Father Tom Metzger officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
