Delores Faye Abell

Delores Faye (Anderson) Abell, 82, of Pendleton, passed away January 8, 2023 at Sugar Fork Crossing in Anderson.

She was born December 24, 1940 in Stilesville, Indiana and resided in the Pendleton area since the 1960’s.

Delores was a homemaker, mother, nurses aide, then went back to school to become an LPN. She then worked at a couple of nursing homes then for Dr. Musngi’s office in Pendleton where she retired.

She was a graduate of Martinsville High School and Nursing School in Anderson.

Delores was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pendleton. She enjoyed family get togethers, knitting, crocheting, doing crafts, taking pictures, watching television, especially old westerns, attending bluegrass festivals with her husband, doing puzzles and word search. Delores loved babies, children and having her “goodies”. She was more of a homebody.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy S. Lewis; grandsons, Nathan Poore and Joshua Poore; brothers, Larry (Mary) Anderson and Donald (Sharon) Anderson; sister-in-law, Mildred Abell; brother-in-law, Harold (Sandy) Abell; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Howard G. Abell, who passed away June 19, 2022; parents, Chester and Sarah Susan (Osborne) Anderson; and siblings, Chet, Bert, Mildred, Doris and Gordon.

Services at 3 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 6509 S. State Road 67, Pendleton with Pastor Aaron Hargis officiating. Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the church.

Graveside services at 1 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2023 at Mentor Cemetery near Birdseye, Indiana.
