Dell Ervin McGuffey, 52, Noblesville, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born on March 29, 1958, in Noblesville, Indiana to Charles and Clara (Capps) McGuffey.
He graduated from Hamilton Heights in 1977.
Dell was owner and operator of McGuffey's Irrigation, McGuffeys Market, Dells Shell, Lapel Video, and Loras Flowers
He coached softball in the Lapel leagues for many years and loved gardening and spending time with his grandson. He was known to be a big Green Bay Packer fan.
He is survived by two daughters, Chelsie McGuffey and Caylie McGuffey both of Noblesville; one grandson, Jayden McGuffey-McCracken; three sisters, Julie McGuffey of Noblesville, Pam McGuffey of Indianapolis, and Judy (husband, John) McShane of Noblesville; one brother, David Eads of Russel Springs, Kentucky; his companion, Denise Lee; a step-son, Jeremiah Mullet of Indianapolis; and his step-father, Jim Mahan of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Larry Horn officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm noon to 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to to the family in care of Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, P. O. Box 427, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0427.
