Delena F. Huffman

DeLena Folsom Huffman, 89, Anderson, our beloved mother, of Anderson, passed away on November 9, 2015, at Miller’s Merry in Chesterfield after a brief illness.

She was born April 27, 1926, in Pike County, AR, the daughter of the late Martha (Self) and Andy Folsom. After attending school in Blevins, AR she married Doyle Buckley and moved to Anderson. She later married Clarence (Bud) Mabbitt who died in 1965 and Harold Huffman who died in 1999. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Jessie Folsom, Sylvia Bagwell, Lula Lamb, Betty Daughtery and Dovie Folsom; brothers, JT, Wilborn, Harry, Imon, Gilbert and Luther Folsom.

DeLena is survived by her children, James Buckley of Muncie, Edna (Jerry) Lambertson of Anderson, Peggy Buckley of GA, John (Roberta) Buckley of Ingalls, Bud (Terri) Mabbitt, Bob (Mary) Mabbitt, Bart Huffman, Bradley Huffman and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two sisters, Lessie McGuire, Nell Wiggins both of TX; sister-in-law, Geraldine Folsom of AR and a special friend, John Hodson of Anderson.

DeLena worked eleven years at St. John’s Hospital and over 20 years at Delco-Remy retiring in 1986. She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, UAW-CIO Local #662, Coin Club and the Rangeline Road Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed playing bingo, tending her flowers and baking. Her family and many friends will miss her delicious pies.

Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 14, 2015, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.

Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
