David Y. Taylor, 66, Ellenton, Florida, formerly of New Castle passed away Tuesday March 4, 2003, at his son's home in Lebanon following an extended illness.
He was born on October 23, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Herbert and Cordelia (Hobbs) Taylor.
He retired in 1996 as an independent owner/operator trucker and had also owned and operated Dave's Welding Shop and Dave's Excavating in New Castle.
He is survived by his wife, Patty (Pigg) Taylor; one son, David (wife, Estrella) Taylor, Jr. of Lebanon; three granddaughters, Lauren Taylor, Victoria Taylor, and Leah Taylor; four sisters, Clara (husband, Bill) Ford of Anderson, Dorthea (husband, Bill) Townsend of Woodstock, AL, MaryLou (husband, Bill) McMillan of Ellenton, FL, and Frieda Powell of Beckville, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Herbert Taylor and a sister Phyllis Taylor Finch.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Boone County Hospice.
