David Solomon

David R. Solomon, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 12, 2024 at Life's Journey Hospice House in Avon, Indiana. David was born on January 19, 1930, in Wilkinson, Indiana to Frank Solomon and Margaret (Robertson) Solomon

He was a 1948 graduate of Wilkinson High School and an Army Korean War era veteran of the military. He began his career with Indiana Bell Telephone Company and remained with AT&T until retirement.

David was married for 51 years to the love of his life, Annella (Snodgress) Solomon. Annella passed away in December of 2006.

David was a talented man with wizard-level mechanical skill and knowledge. He earned his private pilot's license at age 44 and enjoyed working with cars, and motorcycles, lawn mowers and chain saws. Household plumbing, electrical, heating, air-conditioning and roofing were also within his abilities.

In 2009, at age 79 riding his 1983 BMW motorcycle, he traveled from Indianapolis to South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and back to Indy with his nephew Ron Wheeler riding his 2003 Honda motorcycle.

He is survived by his two children, Mark Solomon and Kay Kelly; one brother-in-law, David Wright; three grandchildren, Rachel Solomon, Alanya Solomon, and Sasha Solomon; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents and wife, siblings Wayne Solomon, Madelene Young, Susie Adams, Marvin Solomon, and Nellie Wright.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes - Condo Chapel, 130 S. Main Street, Wilkinson, Indiana.  A funeral service celebrating David's life will follow visitation at 1:00pm on Monday with Kurt Solomon officiating.
