David Oliver Tyler

David Oliver Tyler, 83, of Anderson, passed away on October 10, 2021 at Community Hospital Anderson. He was born on December 1, 1937 in Anderson to the late Virgil and Emma Tyler. David retired from Guide Lamp as a supervisor after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Anderson American Legion, Anderson Eagles Club and the Guide Lamp’s Golf Team. He accomplished three holes in one during his lifetime. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada, and High School Basketball, especially the Anderson Indians. He is survived by his children, Terrance Tyler, Gregory Tyler, both of Anderson, Cindy Jacks Voyles of St. Augustine, Florida, David Jacks of Anderson; grandchildren, Steven Tyler, Joshua Jacks, Andrew Voyles, Lauren Voyles; sister, Ruth Bolton of Anderson; sister in-laws, Violet Mae Tyler and Anita Tyler, both of Anderson. David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen Tyler; siblings, Bill Tyler, Merlin Tyler, Marilyn Tyler, Doris Jenks and nephew, Jim Jenks. Services will be held on Friday at 7:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana 46013. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
