David M, "Mike" Ginley, 62, Markleville, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a four month battle with lung cancer. He was born on June 30, 1949, in Anderson, Indiana to Paul and Virginia (Blakeley) Ginley. He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1968. Mike was employed as a farm manager for the former Ciba-Geigy Agricultural Chemical Company in Florida he also was a self employed landscaper and citrus grove maintainer. After returning to Indiana, he drove a semi truck for others and even owned his truck. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Penny Sue (Wood) Ginley; one son, Michael R. "Ryan" Ginley of Markleville; two sisters, Barbara (husband, Paul) Hughes of Pendleton and Marcia (husband, Bob) Burke of Anderson; a half-brother, Gene Ginley of Anderson; a half-sister, Jackie (husband, Gordon) Brachula of Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Ginley and Ralph Ginley; and his grandparents, Charles and Blanche Blakeley. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 12, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Claude Creel officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery, Pendleton. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday, December 12, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint John's Cancer Center, 2020 Meridian St # 100 Anderson, IN 46016-4338.
