David Kent Cornelius, 65, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Lee Memorial Healthpark Hospital in Fort Myers of heart complications.
He was born on December 29, 1941, to Donald and Helen (Gilley) Cornelius.
David retired in 1995 from Guide Lamp with 30 years seniority.
His favorite past-times were watching NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Judy Anderson Needler Cornelius, whom he married in 1983; his mother, Helen (Gilley) Cornelius of Anderson; two sons, Troy David (wife, Stephanie) Cornelius of New Castle, and Timothy Wayne (wife, Joan) Cornelius of Lehigh Acres, FL; two step-children, Terri (husband, Rob) Williams and Christopher (wife, Trisha) Needler both of Anderson; four grandchildren, Makayla and Presley Cornelius both of New Castle, and Andrea and Bryan Cornelius both of Lehigh Acres, FL; several step-children, Shannon Delawter, Shon (wife, Leanne) Delawter, Jesse Williams, Matthew VonBank, and Ethan VonBank; one brother, Duane (wife, Becky) Cornelius of Birmingham, AL; and two nieces, Michelle Birge of Anderson and Jennifer Garr of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by, his father; and a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tom Bangle.
Graveside services at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel are pending.
David will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
