David H. Holding, 83, Anderson, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, at his home following an extended illness. He was born on January 22, 1930, in Greenfield, Indiana to Harold and Doris (Warrum) Holding. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1949 and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. David retired in 1990 from the former Inland Fisher Guide division of General Motors in Anderson after 40 years of employment. He was a member of the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church, Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge No. 77 in Anderson, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis He is survived by Donna Brannum Holding; four children, Steve (wife, Cindy) Holding of Sylvania, OH, Le'Ann Holding of Middletown, Duke (wife, Cathy) Brannum of Lapel, and Karen (husband, John) Schoettmer of Lapel; nine grandchildren, Amanda-Jason Moore, Cortney Smith, Jeremiah Brannum, Stephanie (husband, Caleb) Caldwell, Cody-Marissa Schoettmer, Ashley (husband, Jerry) Young, Allison, Luke, and Joe Holding; seven great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kolby, Kamden, Andrew, Addison, Harper, and Aubrey; a special brother-in-law, Dennis (Peggy) Molina of Lapel. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Bankston; and an infant son, Roger Kent Holding. A private family service will be held at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev.s Jerry Snyder and Bill Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. A Celebration of David's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Alzeheimers Association.
