ANDERSON- David Goyer, 95, Anderson, passed away March 25, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Regional Hospital Anderson. He was born September 14, 1921 in Greentown, to Vergil and Venus Goyer. The family farmed around Kokomo. With six children they moved to Anderson for work. David graduated from Anderson High School. David knew no strangers. He worked at Anderson Mattress for 20 years, then retired from GM after 30 years. He married Jeannie Hope of Gadsten, Alabama on April 18, 2008. He and Jeannie shared an amazing love story. They moved back to Anderson and found wonderful neighbors and friends at church. David enjoyed good friends at Ed Martin Auto in Anderson. Lambert’s Music Center always relied on David to fix their sewing machines. David is survived by his wife, Jeannie; stepchildren, David (Brenda) Hope, Jerry (Janet) Hope, Allen Hope all of Alabama; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; nieces, Sharon (Doug) Robinson, Joyce (Mark) O’Neil, Karen (Dan) Kotlowski; several great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith; siblings, Jean and Paul Jarvis, Marilyn Catt, Joanne Smith, Thomas Goyer, William Goyer, and Jack Goyer. Services will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Madison County.
