David Arthur Furst

April 14, 1954 — June 16, 2021

David Arthur Furst passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1954 to Pearson and Kathleen (Riley) Furst in New Castle, PA, who precede him in death. A graduate of Neshannok High School in New Castle, PA and Youngstown State University, OH. David enjoyed football, playing as a tight end where he claimed to boost the career of QB Ron Jaworski. David earned his Eagle Scout Medal in the Boy Scouts at the same time as his two brothers. His passion was for hunting deer, turkey, and elk, especially with his brother, Keith. He was also partnered in hunting with his exceptional friend Tom Maple. David was very thankful for Mike Williams, who made hunting as physically possible as it could be for him. David also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, studying history, all things athletic, and anything outdoors. David had successful career as a sales professional for food products all across the Mid-west. His engaging smile, communication skills, and problem-solving demeanor were his trademarks. David was an incredible husband, father and friend. Throughout David’s life, his mantra was “motivate, motivate, motivate”. He was faced with many challenging circumstances, but faced each hurdle with grace, dignity and total optimism. He was generous with his engaging smile and laughter. He was passionate about showing others the joy of sports, hunting and the beauty of nature. His love for his family was deep and he had unwavering concern for their needs, above his own. David is survived by his bride of 43 years, Bianca (Baldwin) Furst, daughter, Laura Jean Furst, specially-chosen daughter, Katie Phipps Seaton and grandchildren Lucas, Lauren, and Sydney. Brothers Thomas Arthur Furst from Montana, and Keith Arthur Furst, from Ohio, along with loving brothers and sisters-in-law, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as his very special friends John and Connie Kanable. David was a member of South Meridian Church of God in Anderson and held many special friendships with Faith Family at Bethel United Methodist Church, also in Anderson. David’s family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
