David Allen Hooper

David Allen "Dave" Hooper, 73, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a sudden illness.

He was born on September 16, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana to Ora and Sarilda (Bohall) Hooper.

David retired from the former Brookside Corporation in McCordsville where he had worked as a die setter for 25 years.

He was a former member of the Anderson Moose Lodge; and the Anderson Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by a niece whom he raised, Michelle L. Hooper of Noblesville; one sister, Sherry McCorkle of Fortville; his former wife, Becky Hooper of Anderson and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews; his faithful dogs Rusty and Roscoe; and many loyal friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Neal Hooper and John Dennis Hooper; three sisters, Terry Jarrell, Carole J. Loughman, and Beverly Dashiell.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Jesse Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Humane Society, 2219 Crystal Street, Anderson, Indiana 46012.
